The President is the one who sets the vision for the committee. Once elected, he or she would have to be well versed in the school's constitution and must also be able to advise the committee on the legal aspects of their respective portfolios. The President should be able to see things from a bird's eye view. He or she must be decisive, able to correctly analyze situations and then make critical decisions as soon as the need arises.

The Sports Club President will also automatically be a member of the Student's Union Council. Through this council, he or she will have the opportunity to meet Presidents of all the other student organisations in NTU (and frequently too!) to deliberate on issues such as the students' welfare and the awarding of points and accommodation to students, among other concerns.

Being the President also presents the chance to attend various seminars where you would be able to exchange viewpoints with student leaders from other institutions. There will also be occasions where political figures visit Singapore, and as President, he or she will lead the committee when attending such seminars.
